From Ancient Greek, thixis ‘touch & tropos ‘of turning.’

When disturbed, when shaken, when stirred, a thixotropic liquid flows more freely. You could say it opens.

(After the force is removed, the liquid will return in time to its previous state.)

Thixotropic Press’s intention is to publish chapbooks of single long poems (or interdependent sequences) & poetic essays that reflect this physical-energetic-molecular property.

Our third title, David Mutschlecner’s Slow Closing of the Opening Chapter, is now in print.  David is the author of several books of poetry and essays.  Slow Closing joins our first two chapbooks, The Particles and 7 Cervicals / Riga Pine.
